Flexible Self-Righting J11 Bollard – Standard-Compliant or Non-Compliant (Public or Private Use)

The J11 bollard (also known as J11 delineator, marker post, or traffic bollard) is a vertical signaling device designed to improve road marking visibility and enhance traffic safety. It is commonly used to guide road users, define separations, or highlight lane changes.

Made from injected flexible polyethylene, this bollard offers excellent impact resistance. Thanks to its shape memory, it bends upon impact and returns to its original position, making it virtually unbreakable and ideal for high-traffic environments.

Difference between standard-compliant and non-compliant J11 bollards

It is essential to distinguish between standard-compliant (NF P 98-583) and non-compliant models, as their permitted uses differ significantly.

Standard-compliant J11 bollard (public roads)

White, green, and yellow models are certified under NF P 98-583 and meet the following requirements:

  • Height above ground: 750 mm

  • Diameter: Ø200 mm

  • Closed profile

  • 2 Class 2 reflective bands (visibility up to approx. 250 m)

  • Top cap included (allows accessory integration)

✅ These bollards are approved for public road use.

Non-compliant J11 bollard (private use only)

Non-certified versions differ in several ways:

  • No top cap

  • Shorter mounting socket: 5 cm (vs. 14 cm for compliant models)

  • Slightly different dimensions (height approx. 735 mm)

  • Available colors: red or blue (not compliant with standards)

⚠️ These models are strictly reserved for private areas.

A flexible and durable design

The J11 bollard is built for intensive use:

  • Material: 100% recyclable flexible polyethylene (PE)

  • Thickness: 4 mm

  • Lightweight and abrasion-resistant structure

  • Ergonomic handle for easy handling

  • Base equipped with a stamped metal cup for optimal ground stability

Simple and secure installation

Installation is carried out using a ground socket system:

  1. Drill into the pavement

  2. Insert the mounting socket

  3. Secure with an M12 bolt using a tightening key

For enhanced anchoring, a chemical resin can be used (note: this makes the socket permanent).

Typical applications

The J11 bollard is used in various configurations:

  • Reinforcing continuous lines to prevent crossing

  • Marking traffic islands

  • Indicating lane narrowing to guide vehicles

It is also suitable for:

  • Construction sites

  • Private roads

  • Industrial and logistics areas
