On a construction site or public road, protecting cables and pipelines running across a carriageway while keeping the heaviest vehicles moving is a constant challenge. The SAFECROSS road crossing plate meets this requirement with a lightweight composite solution rated up to 44 tonnes — designed to replace heavy traditional steel sheets with a faster, safer and easier-to-handle alternative.
SAFECROSS works on a modular principle combining interior elements and end elements. The entire system is installed by hand using the integrated lifting hooks — no machinery required, no special tools needed. Setup is fast, and so is removal, making it the ideal solution for temporary installations or construction sites where configurations change frequently.
Unlike steel sheets, which are heavy and awkward to handle, SAFECROSS composite plates offer an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Their light weight makes manual handling easier, reduces team fatigue and speeds up installation. Yet they withstand the passage of vehicles weighing up to 44 tonnes, making them fully compatible with heavy goods vehicles, semi-trailers and the heaviest construction machinery.
The SAFECROSS range includes 5 references — from PASS 6100 to PASS 6300 — with useful widths ranging from 950 mm to 2,950 mm. All models share the same overall dimensions (length 1,600 mm, width 500 mm, height 1,000 mm) and the same maximum load of 20,000 kg, ensuring full compatibility between modules.
| Code | Length A (mm) | Width (mm) | Height (mm) | Useful Width (mm) | Max. Load (kg) | Min. Support L. B (mm) | Max. Spacing C (mm) | Weight (kg) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PASS 6100 | 1,600 (1130 + 2 × 235) |
500 | 1,000 | 950 | 20,000 | 400 + 400 | 800 | 134 |

| PASS 6200 | 1,950 | 214 | ||||||

Steel sheets are heavy, noisy under vehicle traffic, prone to corrosion and require lifting equipment to move. SAFECROSS composite plates can be handled by hand, are silent under load, rust-proof and equally resistant to heavy loads. They are faster to install and remove, with fewer personnel — delivering significant time and cost savings on every installation.
The choice depends on the useful width required: PASS 6100 covers 950 mm, PASS 6200 covers 1,950 mm and PASS 6300 allows a crossing of 2,950 mm. For wide trenches or large openings, several modules can be placed side by side to increase the total span.
No. Thanks to its lightweight composite construction and integrated lifting hooks, SAFECROSS can be installed by hand by two people. This is one of its key advantages over steel sheets, which always require a handling machine to move and position.
Yes. All models in the range are rated for a maximum load of 20,000 kg (20 tonnes per axle), corresponding to standard heavy goods vehicles up to 44 tonnes gross weight. The minimum support length of 400 + 400 mm and maximum spacing of 800 mm between supports guarantee structural stability under load.
Yes. The modular system is specifically designed for this: interior and end elements fit together to adapt to any site configuration. The total covered width can be adjusted to suit each situation without cutting or modifying the panels.
Yes. The surface of SAFECROSS plates is treated to provide sufficient grip in wet conditions, for both pedestrians and vehicles. Its composite composition makes it immune to corrosion and moisture variation — unlike steel, which deteriorates rapidly under prolonged outdoor exposure.
